About Living Mask |
|
Why did I create Living Mask Makeup Design? I have always admired Dick Smith and Michael Westmore and their willingness to share their knowledge with anyone and everyone. I wanted to be able to do the same thing. Living Mask has given me the opportunity to work with theatre groups and Schools, teaching makeup to high school students and professional actors. It has enabled me to meet other makeup professionals and share my ideas and techniques with them. What sort of work do I do? Although I have primarily worked on stage makeup in the past, my interests in makeup are many and varied. I enjoy doing character and special effects makeup, and have specialized in old age makeup. Additionally, I have worked with prosthetics, gelatin, airbrush makeup, and beauty/fashion makeup. I love to work individually, as well as in small groups, teaching makeup techniques, and sharing my love for the art of makeup. How did I get interested in makeup design? Looking back, it seems that I've always been interested in disguises and makeup. It was not until high school, however, that I truly realized my love of makeup artistry. One day, in the high school library, I discovered Richard Corson's Stage Makeup book, and that day changed my life. Since then, I have taught myself stage makeup, film makeup, prosthetics, air brush, and as many other new techniques as I could learn. Comments, Suggestions, Questions?
